Ganesha Mudra is an asana named after the Hindu devotions Lord Ganesha, who is the god of Hindu and believed to be the remover of all obstacles in one’s life. Ganesha means lord Ganesha, the Indian elephant god, mudra means gesture or seal or mark or pose. This mudra is practiced to relieve the stress and tensions in one’s life.

It is based on hand gestures that are the type of hasta mudra. It connects with one’s energy and awakens the same in one. Ganesha Mudra is associated with the fire element. It balances the creation of pitta in the body or says, abdomen, which is used for the digestion of food. It develops the heart chakra, opens the heart, and regulates the functioning of the organ. It also stimulates the solar plexus chakra that is Manipura chakra and kindles the belly fire. Steps to practice Ganesha Mudra

Ganesha Mudra is based on hand gestures that are the type of hasta mudra. It connects with one’s energy and awakens the same in one. Kindly note the following steps to practice Ganesha Mudra:

  1. Sit in a comfortable position that is sukhasana means easy pose or padmasana, i.e.; lotus pose.
  2. Inhale and exhale for a few seconds.
  3. Then bring your palms together as they touch each other in an offering gesture that is Anjali Mudra.
  4. Then in the next step swivel both hands so that your fingertips point towards opposite elbows. Let your right hand palm will face your heart.
  5. Now, bend your fingers and slide your hands across each other until your fingers are locked.
  6. The interlocked hands are energetically pulled apart without releasing the grip.
  7. Repeat the same steps on other side and reverse the lock also.
  8. Next, deepen the pose.
  9. Chant the mantra of lord ganesha while you get into this mudra. Exhale and chant the mantra of lord Ganesha. Alternatively, you will hear the Ganesha’s name. Breathe and say om ganapatayei Namah.
