Since long we have been reading not to consume coffee because it can lead to diseases and body malfunctioning. Have we not read articles condemning coffee to have been behind causing raised blood pressures and also inducing cancer. Well fellas, coffee and marijuana can be considered as twins when we see how they revolve around being a harmful or harmless.  Let us start to know the major benefits of coffee that have been discovered in the recent past and lets us change our perception about the beverage we all love.

Coffee has been discussed in the recent year as much as very few dietary components have been. With it being one of the key carcinogenic substance, WHO is now planning to take it out of that list.

Parkinson’s Disease:

With researches it has been found out that moderate consumption of coffee leads to a longer life span. Don’t you think it is fascinating to see consumption of coffee for longer mortality? Higher consumptions are also not found harmful but helping in longer life spans. The benefits of coffee in a good metabolism are not unknown.

The latest researches have found coffee to be useful in an array of diseases, which are chronic. Its role in Parkinson’s disease is one of the discoveries that astounded the world. It has been found that those who drink coffee run lower risk of  under the incidence of Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s is neurodegenerative disorder. It is characterized by slowing down of motor function. It leads to muscular rigidity and postural reflex impairment. Researchers have found that there is an inverse relationship between dosage of coffee and incidence of Parkinson’s disease. The presence of caffeine in coffee is considered to be the main component that helps delay the development of Parkinson’s disease. Coffee drinkers are less prone to this disease than the non coffee drinkers.

Type2 Diabetes:

 Diabetes affects how our body processes blood glucose. In diabetes the person will have too much glucose circulating in the body. Coffee and caffeine has a role in reducing risk of type 2 diabetes but its effects are different in different people. A Harvard research has found that people who increased their coffee consumption by one more cup in a day were identified with an 11% lesser risk of diabetes type 2.

And decreased consumption of coffee has increased the chances of developing diabetes.

There is a catch here, caffeine has been found to have effect on increasing insulin resistance. Hence it may be beneficial to decrease the risk of developing diabetes, but those who already have diabetes it may not be a very good idea to intake coffee. Other than caffeine, coffee has many ingredients that may prove protective against the disease.

Other than these coffee as per various researches is found to be useful and protective in gout, uterine and liver cancer, colon cancer and cirrhosis. Coffee has to be understood not as a cure to any of these diseases but as a preventive step. It can be inculcated in the lifestyle and dietary habits. More consumption of coffee should be encouraged. Instead of tea and other drinks, we can prefer taking coffee as beverage.

Coffee is not all about caffeine. One cup of coffee contains Riboflavin, Pantothenic Acid , Manganese and Potassium, Magnesium and Niacin. Hence drinking coffee will lead you to have an intake of the above mentioned vitamins and nutrients.

4.   Women who have coffee are less prone to depression

  A study by Harvard found out that women who have consumption of coffee are less prone to depression. It is highly possible in today’s lifestyle to have depression creeping in our lives. A cup of coffee may keep you away from it ladies.

5.    Protects against liver and other cancers

 Coffee is helpful in prevention of liver cancer and colorectal cancer. Also it may act as a shield in heart diseases and strokes. There are chances that coffee consumption will lead to less strokes but people who suffer from high blood pressure may keep away from it.

6.     Coffee is one of the biggest sources of antioxidants like green tea. And we all know how much important it is to have our antioxidants gets replenished.

Hence we have seen the various benefits of Coffee, and we are not making up anything, Science has proven it by various researches in different environment among different parameters and people. Coffee is not so bad afterall then.
